Event Details

We talked, worked, and argued for over 40 years. Now its day has dawned: Certification!

Steven Jong, head of the committee implementing the newly approved STC certification program, will describe the program and its history, certification in general, how and why the process will work, and how you can help shape it. Afterward, Steve will take your questions.

Networking begins at 6:00.  The presentation and webinar begin at 6:30. If you register to attend remotely, you will receive the GoToWebinar information a couple of days before the meeting. Registration for the online webinar ends one day prior to the event. Note that pricing is in U.S. dollars.

Refreshments will be provided by TPS. Facilities are provided by Tekelec. Meeting is free for chapter members. For other STC members, the price is $10. For nonmembers, the price is $15. (Note: These prices do not include the Eventbrite fees.)

Onsite attendees will be entered in a drawing for door prizes, including Practical DITA by Julio Vazquez, provided by SDI.

Steven Jong is a documentation manager at Camiant, a Tekelec Company.  He is a Senior Member of STC, a former STC director, and a past Boston chapter president. He led the task force that won approval for certification, and currently leads the implementation committee. Steve is also active in the publications competitions at the chapter and international level. He earned master's and bachelor's degrees (and a teaching certification) from Boston University. Steve lives and works outside of Boston, Massachusetts with his wife, three children, and, somewhat to his consternation, five cats.
